Connecting the Tail You are not advised to solder directly to the tail, as the heat involved in this operation may damage the polyester and the circuit. We can supply you with male connectors in the form of solder tabs or pcb insertions, or female connectors . Note that the pitch between the tracks in any of the configurations is a standard 0.1 inch (2.54mm). You will need a single slot in your casing to put the tail through. You will need to specify where you want the tail on your keypad, and to ensure that you have allowed for it in your casing design. Ideally it should be no less than 10 mm from the edge of the keypad. If it looks as though it may be, then inform us sooner rather than later! A final thought: Tails don't like sharp bends!! |
